We need a buddy
We need a buddy for a gay couple from Iraq. They have recently gotten asylum in Iceland, are both gay and identify as male. They are 25-30 years old. They want to meet Icelanders, learn Icelandic and strengthen their social bonds. Please sign up to become their buddy and we will connect you three. You can meet at Samtökin’s HQ if you want to. We need a buddy for a wonderful woman. She is a lesbian from the France, speaks Icelandic, English and French and is aged between 35-45 years. She has been living in Iceland for over a decade and wants to meet someone she can hang around with and chat. Please sign up to become her buddy and we will connect you two. Sorting and organising at the office
We need one sorting-genius to come to the office at Suðurgata 3 and sort our bookshelves and receptacles. Also we need that person to look at the books that we carry and sort them out, looking for something that shouldn’t be there. The volunteer will work with Sigurgeir Ingi.

Categorizing posts on the website
We need a good volunteer to categorize all of our posts on our website. These are around 3000 posts. The website uses WordPress. Volunteer will work with Daníel E. Arnarsson.
Duration: 30-40 hours

Small construction and maintenance
We need a volunteer to come to Samtökin’s HQ and fix a couple of things, f.ex. a door, one wall and also painting. Huge benefit owning tools for the work.

Buddy program course
In this course we will go over our buddy program, the purpose of it and how we can offer a good support to those who need it and are new in Iceland. We will talk about advise, boundaries, prejudism, feelings and more.

Volunteer course II
Volunteer course II offers a deeper understanding of volunteer work in general, what is the purpose and how we can be a better volunteer and better support. We will introduce special assignments as well of laying the groundwork for a new volunteer-based assignments
